HDK-Valand Café, November 2025
The Value & Visibility exhibition marked the first public presentation of Still Good, Still Life, an ongoing photographic series.

The series focuses on food sourced from discounted grocery bags: produce that is still edible but often overlooked due to appearance, timing, or expiration dates. Through carefully staged still life photography, Thurees asks viewers to reconsider how value is assigned to everyday food.
Displayed at the HDK-Valand Café, the exhibition naturally invited conversation. Visitors often stopped to ask questions about the produce, where it came from, and why these particular ingredients were chosen.

Those interactions became an unexpected turning point for the project. Thurees realized that Still Good, Still Life could function not only as a photographic series but also as an ongoing exploration of food waste, grocery habits, and how people think about the food they buy and throw away.
The experience shaped how she approaches future exhibitions, seeing them not only as spaces to show photographs, but also as opportunities to gather stories, questions, and perspectives from the people encountering the work.
