Remembrances Gruppuställningen (2025)

Utställningen Remembrances, curerad av Juliana Goméz och Esther Dullinger, var en grupputställning som hölls på Rotor 2 Galleri, Valand.

Thurees ställde ut tillsammans med andra HDK-Valand-studenter. Hon ställde ut sitt verk med titeln Echoes of My Dreams, 2023, ett fotografi som representerar den livfulla och repetitiva naturen i hennes drömmar. Utförandet innebar ett inramat fotografi ovanpå flera kopior av samma fotografi som hon modifierade med olika tekniker som pappersmanipulation, blandning av olika typer av material och 3D-versioner av elementen i originalfotografiet. Här använder hon händer bundna med snören för att representera försöket att sammankoppla sina återkommande drömmar.

"Remembrance emerges as a fleeting spark, a trace that appears and vanishes with the speed of a comet. What once was, upon being recalled, transforms into something else.

This exhibition unfolds in the space between memory and forgetting, where images blur and dissolve into the present. Like the fragmented remains of a dream, remembrance does not preserve intact what has passed; it lingers instead as a sensation, as an echo, as a shadow.

To remember is to attempt to see the bottom of moving water: the outlines shift, the surface trembles, yet something persists. Through the gestures of art, craft, and design, the works gathered here reconstruct those fragile pieces, weaving together materiality and affect, form and memory.

Remembrance invites us to dwell in this in-between, to embrace the instability of memory and the beauty of what resists being fully grasped."
